Professional (Truck) Driver

Apprentice registrations are not being accepted at this time. 
NOTE: The Professional (Truck) Driver program is currently in pilot delivery. Registration for pilot participation is closed and no new apprentice registrations will be accepted at this time. Program documentation here is subject to change following an evaluation of the pilot. For more information about the pilot or to express an interest in registering in the program at a later date, please contact the Transportation Career Development Association (TCDA) at info@tcda.ca.

Description

"Professional (Truck) Driver" means a person who operates a truck for pay or profit including tractor trailers and specialized equipment; ensures vehicle and minor equipment maintenance; manages cargo safely and securely; plans and conducts long and shot haul trips; performs customer relations through communication and negotiation; understands and complies with laws, regulations, and policies governing safety, customs, immigration, dangerous goods transportation, and hours of service conditions; performs administrative duties to facilitate billing and invoicing.
