YES 2 IT (Youth Exploring Skills to Industry Training) launched in 2006 as a joint initiative of the Industry Training Authority (ITA) and the Ministry of Education is now complete. ITA Youth Initiatives will continue to provide printed educational resources and advice to support future school district and industry-sponsored YES 2 IT events.
Yes 2 It is a trades awareness program targeting students in grades 6-9. The Resource Training Organization (RTO) and the Southern Interior Construction Association (SICA) have created templates for YES 2 IT events that showcase resource based and construction trades. The templates are "how to" YES 2 IT guides can be used as is or adapted by schools or school districts to run their own YES 2 IT event. Both templates include multi media presentations that highlight a variety of trades in their area and can be downloaded.
