Planer Mill Maintenance Technician I

PROGRAM STATUS – INACTIVE - (effective 30 November 2011; ref: OPSN 2011 025)
No new apprentices will be registered in this trade

Note:  Due to out-dated program standards and low numbers of apprentices registered in this trade over the past five years, ITA, in consultation with the Resource Training Organization (RTO), decided to remove Planermill Maintenance Technician 1 as an active program; therefore, the program has been temporarily classified as "inactive". Once a program is designated "inactive," ITA will not register new apprentices in the program.

RTO is actively working with industry to update the program standards and to reactivate the program and ITA emphasizes its commitment to ensuring that apprentices already in the system have the opportunity to complete their program and to earn their credentials.

ITA strongly encourages apprentices and employers to report previously unreported Work-Based Training hours as soon as possible. The Work-Based Training report form is available on ITA's website - under Forms and Fees.

ITA also reassures both apprentices and employers that credentials earned while a program is inactive are valid and will continue to be recognized provincially.

Should you have any questions or concerns about completing your program, please contact ITA Customer Service at (778) 328-8700; Toll Free +1 866-660-6011 or by email at customerservice@itabc.ca.
